What this tool does

Many websites and computers can't open iPhone HEIC photos? Add them here to convert to JPG. Photo too big to upload? Choose “Max per photo 2MB” or “1MB” and quality and size are adjusted automatically until it fits.

Set the longest side (e.g. 2048 or 1080 pixels) and the quality (around 80 looks the same with a much smaller file), or save as WebP (faster websites) or PNG (lossless). Each photo shows its size before and after; if the original is already smaller, it's kept.

Saving again removes the GPS location and other camera details from your photos, so they're safer to share. No limits on the number of photos or uses; on a phone use “Save all to phone”, on a computer download a ZIP.

You'll need
Photos (several at once; JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC)
You'll get
Compressed JPG, WebP or PNG files (download one by one, save all to phone, or as a ZIP)

How to use

  1. Add photos (several at once is fine)
  2. Choose JPG, WebP or PNG
  3. Optionally set the longest side and a max size per photo
  4. Compare the sizes before and after
  5. Download one at a time, save all to your phone, or download a ZIP

FAQ

What is HEIC, and why convert it to JPG?

HEIC is the iPhone's default photo format: small files and great quality, but many websites, Windows computers and older apps can't open it. JPG works everywhere.

Will compression make my photos blurry?

At a quality of around 80, you can barely tell the difference on phones or computers, and files are usually 50%–80% smaller; quality is lowered further, or the photo shrunk, only when you set a “Max per photo”.

Are my photos uploaded to the site?

No. Compression and conversion happen in the browser on your own phone or computer, so your photos never leave your device. No login needed, and it's free.

What happens to the camera details (GPS location)?

Saving again removes the GPS location, camera model and other details, so photos are safer to post online. They're only kept when the original was already smaller and is kept as is.
